Picking your data region

Choose where your contracts are stored. Pick once at signup; you can have separate organisations in different regions if you need to.

Updated 17 Aug 2026

When you sign up, Clment pre-selects a region for you — the geographic area where your contracts will be stored — in the Data residency picker on the sign-up form. Your data is stored securely within the region you choose, and it stays there at rest. The one exception is while an AI review is actually running: the analysis may run on AI models hosted outside your region, using temporary copies that are deleted shortly afterwards and are never used to train the models.

The pre-selection is only a starting point — pick any region in the list if you have a specific data-residency requirement.

Available regions

  • United States (us) — Azure East US 2
  • Europe (eu) — Azure Germany West Central (Frankfurt)
  • United Kingdom (uk) — Azure UK South (London)
  • Australia (au) — Azure Australia East (Sydney)
  • New Zealand (nz) — Azure New Zealand North (Auckland)

The picker always shows the current list, so if a region has opened since this page was written you’ll see it there.

Each region is fully independent. A contract uploaded into a US organisation is never copied or replicated to the EU region, and vice versa.

How we pre-select a region

Clment doesn’t ask for your country. Your browser is routed to the nearest Clment deployment automatically, and that’s the region the picker starts on — so most people land on the right one without doing anything. If that routing signal isn’t available, Clment falls back to your browser’s language setting to make the same guess.

Either way it’s only a starting point. If the pre-selection isn’t what you want — for example, your company is HQ’d in Singapore but your contracts are subject to EU data residency — just choose a different region in the Data residency picker before you finish signing up. Any region in the list is available to anyone, wherever you’re based.

Changing your region later

Region assignment is set at organisation creation and can’t be changed afterwards. If you need contracts in a different region:

  • Create a new organisation in the desired region. You can be a member of organisations in multiple regions with a single Clment account — they appear together in the org picker with a regional chip next to each.
  • For larger migrations, contact support — we can help script bulk export from one region and re-upload into another.

Cross-region sign-in

A single Clment account can belong to organisations in any combination of regions. Sign in once; the org picker shows everything you have access to and routes your session to the right region transparently.
