Mentions and assignments

Pull a colleague into a contract, review, or finding with @ mentions; assign reviews for second-opinion sign-off.

Updated 27 Jul 2026

Most contract work involves more than one person. Mentions and assignments are how you bring colleagues in without leaving the app.

@ mentions

Type @ in a comment — on a contract’s activity feed or on a review finding — and Clment shows a picker of your teammates. Select one (or several) and they get pulled in.

Where mentions work:

  • Contract activity feed — open the contract → Activity tab → comment with @. The mentioned person gets an in-app notification + an email.
  • Review findings — on any finding’s comment, @ someone to ask a question or hand off. Same notification.

Mentions are a comment feature, so they don’t apply to the AI Assistant — a chat there is yours alone. To share an answer, copy it into a comment on the contract and @ your colleague there.

The email includes a deep-link with ?for=<their-user-id> so when they click it, Clment confirms they’re the right person before taking them to the conversation. If they’re signed in as a different account, Clment offers to switch them to the right one.

Mentioning someone not in your org

You can’t @ users outside the org. Two workarounds:

  • Invite them (if they should have ongoing access) — see Inviting users and roles.
  • Share a deep-link by copying the URL of the contract or review and pasting it into your existing collab tool (Slack, Teams, email). They’ll need to sign in to Clment to view it.

Assigning a review

For partner-style review where one person works the contract and another does the final close-out:

  1. Open the review’s Finish up tab.
  2. On the Status & assignment card, pick the colleague who should review it.
  3. Want to add context — “Please focus on the indemnity section”? @ them in a comment on the relevant finding.

The assignee gets:

  • An in-app notification with the REV-N link.
  • An email subject-lined with the contract title and review number.
  • The review appears on their dashboard, in the My reviews card.

The original author retains access too — they can continue editing in parallel. The review’s Activity tab shows the assignment event with timestamp + author note.

Multiple sequential assignees are supported — assign to person A, who works the findings, then reassigns to person B to close the review.

Notifications

Mentions and assignments trigger:

  • In-app notification badge on the bell icon in the top bar.
  • Email — same content as the in-app notification.

Mentions and assignments are direct — someone has asked for you by name — so they always notify, and there’s nothing to configure. Settings → Notifications covers the scheduled emails instead: contract expiry alerts, and the hour of day key-date reminders go out.
