Billing and credits
How plans, monthly credits, and add-on top-ups work, and what counts as a billable action.
Updated 19 Aug 2026
Clment uses a credit-based model. Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance; billable actions consume credits; you can top up with one-time credit packs if you need more in a given month.
Plans
Four tiers:
- Free — one organisation, one user, up to 25 contracts, and a one-time 1,000-credit welcome pack (no monthly allowance). No credit card required. Free orgs can’t use the API, MCP connectors, or webhooks.
- Pro — small-team tier: up to 5 users, 250 contracts, and a 10,000-credit monthly allowance. Includes the API, MCP server, and webhooks.
- Business — mid-market tier: up to 20 users, 1,000 contracts, a 25,000-credit monthly allowance, and unlimited rulebooks.
- Enterprise — a bespoke deal with custom limits (including unlimited users and credits), agreed with sales. Once it’s set up, you pay in-app like any other plan and can change plans from it like any other (bespoke plans may carry a minimum term).
Paid plans can be billed monthly or annually; annual is charged for 10 months (two months free). You can change plans in-app at any time: upgrades apply immediately and charge only the prorated difference, downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period, and equal-priced switches apply immediately at no charge — see Changing your plan for the full picture.
What costs credits
Clment is a hybrid of free actions and credit-metered actions. Most everyday work is free; AI-driven work is metered.
Free actions (any plan):
- Uploading a contract.
- Viewing, downloading, or editing a contract.
- Manual classification (setting status, tags, risk level).
- Reading findings and reports from past reviews.
- Inviting users, managing rulebooks.
Credit-metered actions (costs track the AI compute involved, so larger jobs cost more):
- AI review — standard: 250 credits + 5 per page; deep: 400 credits + 10 per page. Covers finding generation, recommendations, and verdict prompts. A multi-document standard review runs as a single combined pass, so it’s charged once across the total page count; a multi-document deep review analyses each Review-mode document independently and is charged per document.
- Generating a redline — 50 credits per generation. Regenerating after edits or finding changes costs the same each time.
- AI compare (two contracts side by side) — 100 credits.
- Portfolio Q&A (the in-app AI Assistant, or the
ask_questionskill from a connected AI Agent) — 10 credits per question. - Standalone analyse (classify / extract an existing contract) — 50 credits.
- Generating a rulebook (interview or prompt-to-rulebook) — 100 credits. Refining a rulebook from review feedback is free.
- PDF → Word conversion (Original Format) — 5 credits per 50 pages. Re-converting the same file is free (the result is cached).
- Clean editable Word (Fresh Start) — a quarter of a standard review of the same document (e.g. ~69 credits for 5 pages, ~125 for 50). It reads the whole document with Clment’s most capable AI and rebuilds it as clean, editable text; anything it can’t confirm is flagged as a Word comment. Created once per source document — re-requesting it is free.
- Page processing on upload (OCR + indexing) — 1 credit per page.
Monthly allowance
Your plan’s credit allowance is granted at the start of each billing period and is spent first. It does not roll over — each period starts fresh at your plan’s allowance. Only purchased credit packs (below) carry a balance forward. (The Free plan has no monthly allowance — just the one-time welcome pack.)
Top-up packs
If you’re going to blow through your monthly allowance, you can buy a one-time credit pack instead of upgrading the plan. Packs are paid via card and credit your balance immediately:
- Top-up — 1,000 credits.
- Refill — 5,000 credits.
- Bulk — 25,000 credits.
- Mega — 75,000 credits, suited to a busy quarter or end-of-year spike.
Pack credits are consumed only after your monthly allowance is exhausted (oldest pack first), so they’re effectively insurance against a spiky month. They stay in your balance for 12 months from purchase before expiring.
Invoices
We invoice the card on file on your billing-period anniversary. Invoices are downloadable as PDFs from the Invoices card on Settings → Subscription & Billing.
Seeing where credits went
On Settings → Subscription & Billing, the Usage card shows this period’s consumption against your allowance, and the Credit usage card below it itemises individual charges with the user who incurred each one. Useful for spotting what’s driving cost.
